After the many virtual trade fairs of recent years, the world's leading trade fair for laboratory technology, analysis, and biotechnology took place in Munich again in person. With around 26,000 visitors and nearly 900 exhibitors, analytica 2022 thrilled the laboratory industry.
This year's top theme was the digital transformation in the laboratory, which could be admired and tested in the laboratory of the future. Various honeycomb islands showcased use cases for networking and digitization in the laboratory.
At the technology hub FlowLab, we presented together with our partners SmartLab Solutions, TU Dresden, 2mag, essentim, and Better Basics Laboratory Supplies the automated and quality-assured integration and processing of all data in LIMS from sample entry to the final invoice. iLIMS additionally took on the central task of controlling and monitoring all laboratory devices and sensors via LADS (Laboratory and Analytical Device Standard).
A highlight for the users was the barcode-supported trial run, which allowed tracking of samples, instant printing of barcode labels at sample entry, and feedback on materials and testing resources. The visual user guidance was eye-catching. In addition to displaying the associated SOP on the tablet for each trial step, the laboratory technician was guided through the process by smart device lighting. Laboratory devices used in the trial step visualized their maintenance status through blinking lights and switched to a static glow during processing. With confirmation of the individual trial steps on the tablet, all relevant data was stored in LIMS and subsequent processes were initiated. After the experiment was conducted, a digitally signed test report and invoice were created.
The demonstrated workflow generated enthusiasm and prompted users to engage in intense discussions.
We sincerely thank the organizers and all visitors.
Your iLIMS team!
